NAN Executive Council consists of Grand Chief and three Deputy Grand Chiefs who are elected by the Chiefs of NAN communities every three years. Stan Beardy, Les Louttit, Mike Metatawabin, and Terry Waboose were elected August 2009.
NAN Executive operate on a nation-to-nation level with the governments of Ontario and Canada. Each member is responsible for specific portfolios that correspond to the various departments at NAN.

NAN Grand Chief Stan Beardy will be travelling to Thunder Bay on Monday, as well as meeting with Al Garman. On Tuesday, he will provide Welcoming Remarks at NAN Chiefs Energy Conference, as well as attend the conference through Thursday at the Valhalla Inn. He will provide a Wawatay update on Thursday afternoon. On Friday, he will meet with Lakehead University President Dr. Brian Stevenson.
