The Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Health Policy and Planning Department (HPP) is committed to working to improve the health and well-being of NAN First Nations and ensure the priorities, culture and uniqueness of the territory are reflected in the work to be undertaken.
The goals of the NAN Health Policy and Planning Department are:
To improve the mental, spiritual, emotional, physical and environmental well being of the membership in consultation with First Nations;
To promote improvement in health care services available to the people of NAN;
To promote self-government in health within NAN;
To ensure respect and dignity is upheld through the provision of culturally sensitive health service delivery and personnel; and
To provide a forum for the expression of needs concerns and ideas of Nishnawbe Aski youth, women, families, elders and leaders.
