'It's All Good' Diabetes Prevention and Management Training Program

We thank the Northern Ontario Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative, Northern Diabetes Health Network, for their support of the "It's All Good" Program.  We look forward to an exciting year ahead in learning together about diabetes prevention and management.  We hope that we can help community health workers build activities in their communities by giving them the ideas and tools to carry this through.

Through this funding Nishnawbe Aski Nation has planned interactive workshops for community health workers based on the concept of the "It's All Good" Program. The workshops will provide an overview of the steps needed to prevent and manage diabetes.  We believe that the information will be easy to implement in the community for planning programs.

Phase 1 of the "It's All Good" Prevention and Management training was held in Thunder Bay March 2010.  We had 18 NAN commuity health workers participate in the training. click here

Phase 2 & 3 of the "It's All Good" Prevention and Management training is tentatively scheduled for September 29 & 30 in Thunder Bay. We will be inviting the 18 participant from Phase 1 back to complete the training program.
